At GaPS In-Motion we understand the need for a non-GPS solution that will allow navigation in large, enclosed areas. For this reason, we have developed Xpo Monkey, a mobile search and navigation tool that does not require conventional maps or the users position to be identified using GPS. This is achieved by using illustrated drawings, or floorplans in the case of enclosed facilities.
Not only is this solution ideal for exhibitions and events, it can also be used for navigating around large department stores, shopping malls, retail outlets, amusement parks or any area using an illustrated drawing.
Our newest edition to the GaPS In-Motion search line-up... Hanimi has been developed using AI-based technology and relies on a question and answer, chat-style interface to perform searches. Once users enter the website and their location is determined using GPS, users are presented with a “chat-style” interface. By simply typing in their question and clicking submit, the users are returned map-based results with icons indicating all Points-of-Interest relevant to their question.
Initially questions will focus on simple search queries, such as “Where is the nearest cafe?” then with future development, progress to questions like, "Where can I find a café serving muffins, but is non-smoking?" Eventually, our goal is for users to be able to ask questions and receive recommendations (on places to visit) in a chat-style environment.
